The Reception of Sacraments

Two programs are offered to prepare children for the Sacrament of First Reconciliation, First Communion or Confirmation. Both programmes provide theological, scriptural and catechetical input to assist the children to grow in faith as they prepare to receive these sacraments.

  1. The School Sacramental Program is provided as part of the school’s religious education programme.
  2. The After-School Sacramental Program is for students who attend other schools. These students attend a series of preparation sessions held outside school hours. If your child does not live within the parish boundaries, then a letter of permission from the Parish Priest where you live is to be forwarded to the Parish office.
Due to limited space, only 20 children can participate in this after-school programme for each of the three sacraments.

First Reconciliation and First Communion are offered to children in Grade 3 and above, while Confirmation is offered to children in Grade 6 and above.

Families wishing to present their children for First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation, are asked to make a commitment to the entire program (see the relevant dates).

If you are unable to do so, we request that you wait until these sacraments are offered in a future year.
